How to Play
Sniper Elite strips away the chaos of typical shooters and focuses on one thing: the perfect shot. Enemies appear at varying distances across the scope view. Your job is to time your shot perfectly — the bullet has travel time, and targets move at different speeds depending on their distance. This isn't about spraying bullets; it's about patience, timing, and knowing exactly when to pull the trigger.
The scope view shows distance markers that help you estimate bullet travel time. Closer targets require almost no leading — a direct shot lands almost immediately. Far targets require you to aim slightly ahead of the target's movement direction, accounting for the time it takes the bullet to reach them. At the hardest levels, targets are small, fast, and far away — the ultimate test of sniper precision.
Every level gives you a set number of targets to eliminate. Hit them all to advance. Miss too many and the level ends in failure. The scoring rewards headshots heavily — aim for the center of the target rather than just hitting the body. Consecutive kills without misses build a combo multiplier that can push your score into the stratosphere.
Pro Strategies
- Lead your shots: At distance, targets move noticeably between when you fire and when the bullet arrives. Aim slightly ahead of their movement direction.
- Wait for clear shots: Don't fire when targets are crossing your scope rapidly. Let them settle or move toward you before committing.
- Prioritize close targets: Near targets are easier hits and faster kills. Clear the close range before worrying about distant ones.
- Watch the wind indicator: Later levels introduce wind that pushes bullets off target. Adjust your aim accordingly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I hit moving targets at long range?
Aim ahead of their movement. A good rule: for every 100m of distance, aim about one target-width ahead of where they currently are.
What does the wind indicator mean?
Wind pushes your bullet sideways. In Level 5+, check the wind arrow before each shot and compensate by aiming slightly opposite to the wind direction.
Are headshots always worth it?
Yes — headshots give 3x the score of body shots. In later levels, the score difference between headshots and body shots can be the difference between passing and failing.
